Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Karve (karvejobs.com) collects, why, and what rights you have. Karve is operated by an individual based in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR. You can reach us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Job-alert waitlist. If you sign up for email updates we store your email address, the free-text description of the roles you’re interested in, the filters we derived from it, and the number of matches you were shown at sign-up.
- Technical logs. Our servers and our CDN (Cloudflare) record request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, user agent and the page requested. We use this to keep the service available and to rate-limit abuse. These logs are short-lived.
- Usage analytics. We use a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics measurement that counts page views and a small set of interaction events (for example “viewed a job”, “clicked apply”). It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and never records your search text or any information that identifies you.
We do not ask for or store payment details on this site, and we do not collect special-category data.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To send you the job updates you asked for — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep the service secure, available and free of abuse, and to understand aggregate usage — our legitimate interests in running the service.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Karve:
- Supabase — database hosting for the waitlist.
- Cloudflare — content delivery, security and cookieless analytics.
- Oracle Cloud — server hosting.
- A large-language-model provider — the text description you enter on the sign-up preview is sent to an LLM API to turn it into search filters. It is not used to train models.
- An email delivery provider — used to send the job updates once that feature is live.
Some of these providers are located outside the UK/EEA. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we discontinue the service. Technical logs are retained only briefly.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict our processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us at [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
Karve does not set any advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics is cookieless. Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies (for example to tell humans from bots); these are exempt from consent requirements and cannot be switched off without affecting the site’s security. If we ever introduce cookies that require consent, we will ask you first.
Job listings
Karve indexes publicly available job postings from company career pages and their applicant-tracking systems. If a listing contains your personal data (for example you are named as a hiring contact) and you want it removed, email [email protected] and we will take it down promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. See also our Terms of Use.
